Bio

Georg graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts with a BA (hons) in Theatre- and Performance Technology. His lighting design work is widely spread across all areas of the performing arts, from theatre, musical and dance to rock‘n‘roll concerts as well as the world of corporate events.
His theatre credits include: That‘s what I call showtunes 1 & 2 (BLTS, Pavilion Bournemouth), Beyond the machine (Julliard School New York in Zurich), Frameless (LIPA, Liverpool), Just So (Regent Centre, Christchurch), My favourite Year (LIPA, Liverpool), The memory of water (LIPA, Liverpool), Ain't misbehavin' (LIPA, Liverpool), Titanic – The experience (LIPA, Liverpool), The man from La Mancha (LWG Theatre, Germany), Phantasie (Germany), Emotions (Germany), The fiddler on the roof (LWG Theatre, Germany) and Andorra (LWG Theatre, Germany).
Besides his theatre work he has been lighting designer for the German music festival Lucky Lake, the 3rd Degree festival in Liverpool, Terratrembel and Voices on Top high up the in the Swiss Alps. He won the Michael Northen Award for The Memory of Water and an honorary mention for Ain‘t misbehavin‘.
In 2010 he co-founded the emptyroom, a collective of creative artists from the performing arts. Located all over Europe, they provide design services for all sorts of performances and they also produce new work independently.
Originally from Germany, Georg now lives in Zurich, Switzerland, where he works mainly as a lighting designer and operator for corporate shows, concerts and theatre productions.
